The Board of Directors for Community Futures Development Corporation of the North Cariboo (Community Futures) has announced their decision to wind up the operations of the Wood Enterprise Centre Division effective July 31, 2007.

The Wood Enterprise Centre (WEC) has serviced the regional value added sector since 1997 by providing access to wood products related knowledge, technology transfer and training. In 1999, the Wood Enterprise Centre expanded its services to wood product manufacturers throughout British Columbia by making specialized equipment and expertise available on a shared-use or contract basis. The Wood Enterprise Centre has also been used as a training facility for School District #28 and the College of New Caledonia, and was utilized for a variety of community projects including cabinetry and flooring for the Nazko School & Community Centre.
